Watch out world, Tom Cruise apparently knows everything

Alright so I came across this article this morning about Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer in a heated interview on the TODAY Show. All I can say is that if those Tom Cruise quotes are correct, and Im sure they are, then Tom Cruise sounds like he is on his way to being more and more disliked.

Well its officially 5 days before I leave for sunny San Diego. I am really excited, but I would be more excited if the trip there wasn't going to be hell on earth. My best friend's mother is a flight attendant and gave me a free roundtrip ticket to wherever they fly. Sweet right? Of course. I am so completely thankful for it. Unfortunately, they only fly out of Islip airport in Long Island.

Check out my trip to Cali:

Taxi to bus stop at 40th street
Take the Hampton Jitney for an hour to Long Island
Take taxi from dropoff point to the airport
Wait at airport 2 hours early (its a standby ticket)
Take off and fly to Baltimore- switch planes
Take off and fly to New Mexico- sit for 30 minutes
Take off and land in San Diego- 100 billion hours later

Something tells me that I will either arrive in a shitty ass mood or totally smashed.

Its going to be a good time though. I have plans to explore San Diego, party it up on the beach on the 4th, and spend a day in Temecula Valley doing some wine tasting. The best part is that my LA guy is driving down for 2 days to spend time with me- yay!

Alrighty, back to writing this damn paper.

Which one of you bitches is obsessed with me?

Well I guess we all knew it was going to happen.

But did anyone think it would happen this quick? I guess I should be happy for her, but I am still adjusting to the weirdness of it all. I really love Nicole Kidman too so I guess I was secretly wishing they were back together. However, my wishes having to do with the opposite sex never come true or else I wouldn't be writing right now, I'd be in bed with Christian Bale. Ahh Christian. I need to see Batman Begins this weekend, has anyone seen it yet?

I went to the "Drive In Movies at the Rock" last night to watch Rosanna Arquette's film. It was pretty cool even though it was rainy and Rosanna showed up to introduce the film and then sat and watched it with us. If it doesn't rain tomorrow night maybe I'll head out there again. Tonight, its Rink Bar.

In "Laura is a freak magnet" news- I got two phonecalls from an "unknown" number yesterday. The first one I didn't answer and the second time they left a message. Now first imagine some scary little gremlin voice. Now imagine that voice saying "Laura when are you coming home...I'm waiting for you". Yea, that was the message. No it wasn't any of my friends or anything like that.

I wish I could say this is an isolated event, but it isn't. A year or so ago some idiots found my screen name and proceeded to bother me asking me questions about highschool and then random things about my current friends. Needless to say they were blocked, although I never found out who they were. Then last year I got a message on my machine of a guy singing the whole "you are my sunshine" song to me. No idea who it was, I listened to it like a billion times. Again, and unknown number.

Most recently before yesterday, back in September I was home in FL for my dad's bday and I got a text msg from someone with a 321 area code (Melbourne, where I am from). The message said "I love you more than you know". I replied back and said " I think you have the wrong number". Then they said "No I dont think so". And that was it. I googled the number and was only able to find out that it was a cell phone.

So yea, who is this freak and why the hell are they obsessed with me? Im just a regular girl. Anyways, I was looking at my site hits this morning and noticed that there was a google reference. I love those because people always get to my site from searching for crazy things. Well guess what this google search was: "get laura now". And the paranoia continues...

This shit is bananas

Well what a damn crazy week I have had. I've told this story oh so many times now that I am going to have to give you the short version because I just don't have the energy. On Monday I was at a regular doctor's appointment at school and was getting blood taken when I blacked out and go into what my doctor said was 3 separate seizures. Ever since I was little I have had a thing with fainting but I had thought I outgrew any kind of reaction. Apparently not. Anyways, when I finally came to after the third "seizure", I had lost all the feeling in my hands, my body temp had dropped to like 93 degrees and wasn't breathing very well. Before I could even really realize what was happening the paramedics were there and I was being loaded onto a stretcher, oxygen mask and all. While riding in the ambulance I was just in state of shock and confusion, luckily the hospital was really close. Anyways, to sum this all up, I was in the ER for most of the day getting bloodwork done and a catscan. Everything came out normal and they would like to say that it was just a case of fainting considering the circumstance, but they are unable to say (due to me shaking and my eyes rolling back) that it definitely wasn't a seizure unless they witnessed it themselves. So long story short, I am doing well, relieved everything came back normal, and have no plans to get any blood drawn for a very long time.

So yea, that was my Monday.

The rest of the week so far has been pretty good, thank god we are moving away from this heatwave. It has been so unbearable, I dont know how those guys walk around in business suits. I walk around in tank tops and cotton skirts and I am still dying of heat. The next step is to shave my head but I am convinced my skull wont be attractive.

Alrighty Im out of here. Hey NYC'ers- whats the best place to get really good Sangria?

26 is the new 25

Well summer has officially hit New York City and what grander of an entrance to make than to give us a 94 degree day like today. You know, one of those days where you get dressed and walk to the street corner and you are already sweaty. It wasn't even this hot in Florida when I was there on Monday. All of you bastards with central air, I am cursing you right now.

This past Saturday was my 26th birthday. Yep, thats right, I might look like I am 19, but I am in fact now (as my sister likes to call it): four years away from being thirty. No comment. Ever have one of those years when you have a birthday and you are like "this is my year, this is when its all going to happen!". Well I said that for 25, and I guess looking back it all did really "happen". I applied to grad school, quit my secure job, gave up my fabulous apartment, left all my family and friends and moved to NYC, where I scored an apartment in the best location ever, was immediately elected an officer of Fordham's Business' largest media organization, and interned at what has been my #1 media job choice for as long as I can remember, NBC. If it sounds like I am tooting my own horn, I am, and I'm allowed to, it was my birthday damnit and Im going to relfect. Oh, and I also left out the part about meeting who I thought could be "the one", but since he is now in LA I figured that kind of cancels out, but it was nice to have those feelings again. For a second it was like I had a boyfriend, imagine that.

So I guess I'm excited about 26. I mean I will be interning again, graduating, and who knows what else, hopefully there is a job in that mix, and maybe a boy, or two. I guess I'm not really freaked out about my age that much. I will probably start to get a little nervous when I am in the 28 to 30 age range, but then again, thats what I thought about 25, and look here I am, one year past and doing swell.

Well thats all I got for now. In case I dont make it back to the blog by Friday, for those in the NYC area make sure to check out The Greenwich Village Bar Tour this Saturday- its tons of drunken fun.
