Where are you sexy little bastards?

So I woke up this morning with that feeling that something was suppose to happen today. All morning it drove me crazy because I couldn't think of what the hell it was. Then it hit me. Fleet Week begins today. Now for most of you this is no big deal, but for someone who has a major thing for Navy boys in uniform, this is Christmas in May.

So when I finally realized the parade of ships had started 4 hours earlier, I threw on some clothes and walked out to the river to see if I could catch a glimpse of any of the ships coming in. Well I saw 2, yippy, and then proceeded to walk all the way down to battery park just to catch a smidge of anything navy-esque. Well an hour later I was riding home on the subway glimpse and smidgeless.

My roommate and I were on our way to the Upright Citizens Brigade show when I was telling her about missing the festivities and as I spoke a subway car filled with navy boys flew by me. This continued to happen throughout the night. At one point Im not even sure if I actually saw them or I had started to hallucinate flashes of white. My best friend is a Navy pilot so I have met loads of Navy boys and have had such great times hanging out with them, which I would like to have more of, but I just can't find them.

If I could just befriend one of them so I could get inside info on where all the parties were and stuff that would be great, but I am yet to do so. I read on somone else's blog that Fleet Week headquarters is normally at Red Rock West so maybe I'll give that a whirl.

March your asses on down to the West Village

Thought of the day:
Does anyone else get incredibly happy when seeing this ipod commercial?

As if you needed more proof

10 Reasons why I am weird

1) I keep certain people I find incredibly annoying on my buddy list just because their away messages are some of the most retarded I have ever seen and continually piss me off

2) I hate donuts and have never had a cup of coffee

3) I become more emotionally distraught over harm to animals than harm to humans

4) I get teary eyed at Publix commercials

5) I can be aroused with a man's display of knowledge of history and art (and no I dont mean old fogies, I mean guys around my age you sickies)

6) I once considered an offer to lick a friends balls in exchange for a slice of pizza (if thats not extreme hunger, I dont know what is)

7) I am convinced this place puts something drug-a-licious in their drinks, and not in a good way

8) I really don't like Russell Crowe. I don't know anything about him or much about his movie career, but I genuinely dislike him.

9) I am secretly dying to know what is going on with the cast of MTV's Laguna Beach

10) I think these are nasty nasty little sandwiches - I know someone else out there has to agree

Now that I have shared, give me a reason why you are weird, because let's face it, we both know you are.

Another week begins

Well my mom left this morning after what I would like to say was quite the lovely visit. We had good weather for the most part except for the one day that we really needed it which was yesterday. The Revlon 5k was a great time and a wet one at that. All three miles it rained on us, but I guess it could have been much worse. We did get to see a good handful of celebs and the lady that plays the ADA on Law & Order SVU was standing next to us during the opening ceremonies, and Mariska Hargitay was one of the event hosts, so my mom (a Law & Order junkie) was quite happy.

Today was a gorgeous day and it all started off with me coming back from breakfast and watching 30,000 bikers bike down 6th Ave. at 8am. There is nothing that makes you feel more guilty from just eating delicious french toast than watching thousands of bikers, most of which are much older than you, bike their way to a healthier body. Makeover time is soon approaching.

I've been finding I go to the river quite often these days, especially on days like this where it is just too gorgeous to stay inside. My roommate and I strolled down by the Hudson to Battery Park and as we were walking I spotted someone that looked awfully familiar. Low and behold I had my first star sighting that I didn't have to be told who to look at. I am always the person that never spots anyone and it gets annoying, like...."Hey, that was just Martin Scorcese that just walked by"...yea, a whole 4 people on the street (3 of which were my friends and I) and I miss him. Anyways-do you guys watch Grey's Anatomy? Well I am addicted to that show and the guy I saw is the guy who plays George on that show. You know....the sweet, funny one who lives in the house with them. Yep. Well he is just adorable in person and seemed to be out for a stroll like everyone else.

Oh and thanks to all the suggestions on shows to see. We kind of left it to the last minute and ended up seeing Rent. Great show, great cast, just a little too morbid for me. Does anyone else get annoyed with how no one dresses up for shows anymore? Flips flops and tshirts don't exactly qualify as broadway show attire in my book, but perhaps maybe I am just very traditional with that sort of thing.
